Watercolor on paper by Misha Chahbazian (1904 – 1976). He was an Iranian artist from Isfahan, known for his brightly colored watercolors depicting urban and rural landscapes of Iran against historical and sacred landmarks. He was part of a group of painters known as the Isfahan School of Watercolor or the New Jolfa Painters.
The watercolor “Taleghan” represents a rural landscape with two women and a baby sitting in front of a stream and some houses, with two trees and mountains in the background.
