Philip IV of Spain, called “the Great” or “the Planet King” was born in Valladolid on April 8, 1605 and died in Madrid on September 17, 1665. Son of Philip III of Spain and Margaret of Austria, he was king of Spain from March 31, 1621 until his death, and Portugal from the same date until December 1640.
