French bronze carriage clock and enamel, decorated with floral motifs, white dial and black Roman numerals.
Carriage clocks are small wind-up clocks without a pendulum, which began to be manufactured in France at the beginning of the 19th century. They are actually “travel watches”, designed to be transported.
Also known as officer’s watches, because it was used by officers of the French army.
